Libraries:
user id plus
S, D, and O |
| Yours: |
You get three libraries. They are your user id
plus an S, D, and O. (If your user ID is 10 drop the last character.)
S=Source, D=Data, O=Objects. That is just my naming convention,
you can use them however you want. In your S library there are
some source files. You are free to delete this source files
and use what you want.
Note: Some users have found they can not create libraries,
but they can rename the ones they have. If you know what you
are doing you can get away with it without me having to know
about it. Except an FTP
exit program runs that only lets you FTP in/out of your
libraries and IFS directory. So I need to change that if you
want to FTP. If you do not know what you are doing you may not
be able to sign back on. |
| Public: |
| QGPL |
Do not put anything in this library. If
I find anything in it I will ether move it or delete it. |
| Public |
This is a public library that you can use
to transfer objects/Source to other users. You put it
in the library and they take it out. Warning: Anyone
can get to this library and see what is in there. This
is also the library that the FTP
exit program defaults to, this can be changed, just
e-mail me what library you want it set to. |

Job Descriptions:
userid
QBATCH |
There are two Job descriptions put in your O library.
One is the same as your user ID and is used on your user profile to
set up your library list, among other things. The other one is QBATCH
and is the same as the one with your user ID, but it is needed because
QBATCH is the default for the PDM defaults. |
Job Queues
userid |
You get 1 single threaded (One job at a time) job queue.
The name of it is the same as your user ID. |
|
Out Queues
userid
userid plus 2
|
You get 2 Out queues. The name of one of them is the
same as your user ID, and is your default out queue. The other one
is your user id plus a 2. If you do not know how to print from them
see FAQ
printing. |
| PDM Option File (QAUOOPT) |
You get your own copy of the PDM option file (QAUOOPT)
in your S library. |
IFS:
/home/userid
/home/userid/www
/home/userid/netdata |
You have an IFS directory. It is /home/userid (replace
userid with your user id). Under that are subdirectories. They are
WWW and netdata. Netdata is used if you want to use netdata. You need
to email us if you want to use Net.Data. WWW is used for webpages.
The URL http://www.netshare400.com/~userid You do NOT have to email
us to use this. |
| FTP
exit program |
There is an FTP exit program that runs. It controls
where you can upload/download to. It controls which FTP commands you
can use. It sets the default library for FTP. It can log all FTP commands. |
| Mapping a network Drive. |
Yes you can map a drive on your PC to your IFS on the
AS/400. Note: Some ISP block the ports (137 and 138) needed to map
a network drive. Cable ISP's are known for this. |
CGI
CGI (cmd)
CALL CGIJOBS 'j#' |
|
| |
|
Utilities |
|
| IBM (Licensed Programs) |
| Client
access |
Client access is installed. If you are behind
a firewall, client access may not work. It is because Client
access uses a lot of ports and most firewalls do not have those
ports
open. |
| Websphere |
The AS/400 is to small to run websphere. |
| Java |
I know nothing about Java and would be interested
in what others have to say about it on TS400. |
